Valentines Day was great...the kids exchanged valentines with their classmates on Friday, and we opened them all on Friday night. They had so much fun looking at all pictures..and yes, Carter ate a few of his favorites!
Carter and Olivia are both pulling up on everything that they see! No longer are they happy just sitting and playing with a toy...now we are crawling all over the place and pulling up on the toys and furniture. Though we are very proud of these new milestones, we are sad to see how fast our babies are growing up...such independence!
Is Harley fenced off in the kitchen OR is Carter and Olivia fenced into the living room??!? Either way we look at it, all three of them love to stand and look at each other!
Saturday mommy worked from 9-2 and daddy had baby duty! That night we met our friends Kathy and Jordan and their son Landyn for Valentines dinner. Landyn is also 9 months old and showed up to dinner with a rose for Olivia!!! Daddy wasn't ready for his little girl to be getting roses from a boy! After dinner we all came back to our place for some more play time. The kids had a great time tackling one another!

Sunday we dropped the kids off at Memaw and Pawpy's house and spent the day just Mitch and I. This was a MUCH needed day for the two of us! It is so easy to get caught up in the day to day that you forget that you have a marriage and not just a family. We make such an awesome team when it comes to being parents to Carter and Olivia, but sometimes forget that we are husband and wife too! We spent the afternoon shopping...mostly for the kids, but it was nice to have adult conversations and hold hands! After running all our errands we went to Mick's Bar and Grill in Mount Joy for dinner and drinks. This has always been our favorite restaurant because the company is great, atmosphere nice, and walking distance from our house in case we drink one to many. Since Monday was President's Day Memaw was watching the kids for us since their daycare was closed. She kept them overnight so that Mitch and I could get a good nights sleep!! We were in bed by 7:30! Thanks Mom and Dad for watching them, it was much needed for Mitch and I to have our day together!
Friday morning both Carter and Olivia had their surgery. We needed to wake them at 5:30am for their Zantac to decrease acid coming out of the stomach during anesthesia. Then headed for the surgery center around 6am. We didn't have to be there until 7 but we were ready and the kids had fallen back to sleep so we hit the road! The nurses took us back around 7am and prepared the kids for surgery. They put them in gowns, heart monitor, blood pressure cuff around ankle, and pulse ox. on toe. This was all finished around 7:30 and then we just had to wait. The surgery was scheduled for 8am for Carter and 8:30am for Olivia. They were being such little hams to all the docs and nurses that came up...they had everyone stopping to talk to them!
Dr. Rizzo came in and spoke with us at 7:58 and the anesthesiologist carried Carter with them to the surgery room. We stayed with Olivia until it was her turn. By 8:15 Dr. Rizzo came out to let us know that Carter was in recovery and everything went well. He had scar tissue in his right ear, and more fluid then she originally thought. The scar tissue was from all the infections he had in the past 4 months. With the amount of fluid that she drained, she said he should be hearing SO much better soon! The took Olivia with them from there, and Mitch and I went to recovery to meet Bubba. He was just waking up and full of tears! He hadn't eaten since 11:30pm the night before and realized just how hungry he was! After I gave him a bottle he was a happy boy once again! Olivia was out of surgery by 8:30 and she too did great. She had a little harder time waking up, but she took a bottle we were able to take them home! Olivia had an ear infection in the R. ear so she was placed on an antibiotic for another 10 days. She too had a lot of fluid, and should be hearing better soon!
We were on the road by 9am to go home! The morning went so well, so we thank everyone for their prayers! Today we are having a lazy day at home just the four of us full of lots of cuddles!!!

Good job babies! Memaw is so proud of you. I hope those bad ear infections are gone for good. Now you'll be able to hear so much better.
Memaw and Pawpy enjoyed your visit last weekend. We loved every minute of it...even those 2 hours of screaming when we were trying to put you to bed. We'll need to come to an agreement about how that should work next time. (It did bring back memories of your Mommy when she was a baby...she wasn't so good at going to bed either.) Carter, it was especially nice having a chance to hold/rock you every hour or two throughout the night. I'm sure you just wanted to spend as much time with Memaw as you could. Olivia, you're a good sleeper once you fall asleep but I'm sure that's because you are like the Energizer Bunny throughout the day...you are on the go all day long. We had so much fun playing with all your toys.
